Sephora VIB ROUGE Haul

I got a email about a VIB Rouge event offering a 15% off discount the same day after I picked up a urban decay shadow. I did do a review of that stunning shadow & I highly recommend checking out that previous post. Luckily I kept some money on me, my goal was to get the electric palette and another product. I decided to go with another fushion shadow. I'm so glad I discovered herlatenightcravings channel because they did a video dedicated to them and that video convinced me to check them out and they are without a doubt my favourite cream shadows. I own 4 (5 now) and today I decided to pick up cosmos which is inspired by the galaxy. It's navy with multicoloured shimmer. I thought this colour would be perfect for my nautical themed outfits.

My overall experience.

I got to the event 15mins after it ended however my favourite sephora guy was there and he hooked me up with a water and we chatted for a bit and another worker helped me get the electric palette (it was in the back room not even on shelves yet!). To top off the experience I got a cute little makeup bag and in a separate plastic bag I received some samples. If I find that any are worth possibly purchasing I will have up a review.

Overall the experience was nice. I got what I wanted and I had a nice time.

Urban Decay Electric palette review

This review is more of a first impressions based off of swatches. Once I play around with the palette I will do an update with how I like it and I will show an eye look using it.

My first impression is that I adore the packaging it looks great and its very practical.

The texture of the shadows is nice some are more pigmented and buttery and some are a bit more dry and need to be built up. This is based off of use without a primer. In my next post I will talk about how they applied with a primer.

The colour selection is nice but I wish there were more lighter vibrant colours. Instead of a deep purple a bright mint green would of been really pretty and more unique. I don't think they should of added chaos because it was in a previous palette. I'm pretty sure most colour loving makeup addicts bought that vice palette.

Based off of my first impression I rate this a 9/10.

Hope you found this review helpful. My next review on this palette will be based off of how the shadows wear on the eyes with a primer. Expect that review this week.

Paula's Choice Resist weekly retexturizing foam 4% BHA review

Paula's Choice Resist weekly retexturizing foam 4% BHA review.

This is my second Paula's choice review. I did talk about the hydrating mask in my last monthly favourites blog so be sure to check that out.

I will be reviewing my absolute favourite Paula's choice products in the next month or so.

I tried the retexturizing foam a day or so ago. My expectations were that my acne would be treated and that my skin would appear healthier and smooth.

APPLICATION- The foam fizzled to the touch. I recommend applying it to a clean surface then using a finger to apply it to your face. I recommend applying it to sections because it absorbs quickly.

INITIAL THOUGHTS- This product defiantly burned however for me that shows its really treating my skin. It wasn't to the point where I felt like my skin was going to peel off however if you have sensitive skin this product may be too intense for you.

After about 20minutes my skin felt fine and it felt super soft & hydrated which I did not expect.

RESULTS- The following day my skin looked cleared up, glowing and it was so soft! I was pretty impressed.

Overall I rate this product a 10/10. I highly recommend checking this product out if you want a strong exfoliator that will help with acne, clean out your skin and leave it looking youthful and feeling baby soft.

If you do have sensitive skin I would use this product with caution. You may want to try one of her 1% or 2% BHA products first. I will be reviewing one of her AHA exfoliators in a week or 2 so watch out for that.

Glam makeup

Thought I would post this picture to show a super easy classy but sassy look. I did a soft smokey eye using the LORAC pro palette +too faced shadows and too faced better then sex mascara. I filled in my brows, applied a sheer powder, lightly contoured with Laguna and I used tartes lip surgence redish pink lip crayon I think it`s called enchanted and it has a matte finish.

To finish off the look I pulled some of my hair back.

Fashion Friday

Ft Nautical theme

I think the nautical theme is super cute on kids and it looks great on both men and women.

I picked out three outfits.
The first is a anchor print mid length dress. This dress can be worn casual or dressed up. The second outfit is a pair of short shorts that aren't too short and a simple navy stretch tank top. This can be worn on its own or dressed up a bit with a statement necklace. The last outfit is a lot more fun. It's a mini denim tattered skirt with a hello kitty top. I got this top to match my daughter. If the skirt is too young for you you can pair it with a circle skirt or capris.

After having two kids in under 3 years I'm working with a new body and a new life so buying clothes and finding what I like and is mommy appropriate has been an interesting journey that I plan on continuing to share :)

MAC BARE STUDY VS BENEFIT BIKINI-TINI

Bikini-Tini is very similar to MAC's bare study however I will say its a little more shimmery with a peach undertone while bare study has more of a cream gold undertone and its more metallic. Both cream shadows have great pigmentation, they have a silky smooth feeling and they dry to a powder feel. Mac's bare study wears a bit better as its less smudgeable. I have not had a problem with creasing from either shadows.

Overall I rate both of them a 9.5 out of 10. The one thing that kept them from getting perfect is they don't build up as evenly as I would like.

Sephora Rouge Event This Sunday

Rouge members check your email because I recently got one from Sephora inviting me to a Rouge event that will feature food, samples & makeup tips. You also will get 15% off until April 11th I believe. This event will be going on in most Sephora stores however for the Rouge party you need to RSVP.

I think I'm going to pick up a new stila liner and maybe another Dior mono fusion shadow. I will review the liner. The new electric palette is not at my Seohora yet but I will pick it up when I can and I will review it :)

What's products do you plan on purchasing?

Happy shopping!

Urban Decay X eyeshadow Review

Today I'm reviewing Urban Decays X eyeshadow. I originally saw Temptalia review an Urban Decay eyeshadow duo with X and half baked. When mixed together they create a beautiful rose gold. X on its own is a beautiful golden peach/pink.

The texture is buttery soft and highly pigmented. Overall this shadow is great quality and will compliment all skin-tones. I rate it a 10/10.

I've included swatches of X on its own and mixed with half baked.

March favourites

I picked out 5 of my favourites that really stood out to me and really aren't talked about.

First thing is Revlon' primrose lipstick, I mixed with NYX mega shine lip gloss in sweet heart. I only wore that once however when I did I thought it made my lips look stunning. It wasn't too nude or bold. My lips felt nice and not sticky. It defiantly did not feel like I layered products and to me that's a big deal so I highly suggest trying those two products together. Primrose is a cool tone pink and sweet heart is a faint shimmery peach so this duo compliments all skin tones.

Third favourite is Bumble & bumble hairdressers invisible oil. I adore this stuff it smells nice, a little goes a long way and my hair never looks greasy! It adds some shine without weighing my hair down and the packaging is lovely. If you have dry or damaged hair you should check this out.

My fourth favourite was Paulas Choice hydrating mask. I just want to say most of her face products like moisturizers, serums, sun block and foundations do contain some form of silicone and it breaks me out and my skin just feels kind of irritated however under my eyes are an exception but product sometimes does get smudged closer to my cheeks and nose and I do get breakouts. This product works great as a under eye cream probably the best I've tried but I won't repurchase because it causes me to breakout. If you don't breakout from silicone/silica then I highly suggest you try this to hydrate your face because it does a fantastic job.

My last favourite is Kleenex. I hate cotton pads I despise the feeling of them so I like to use Kleenex to apply my toner. I like this brand in particular because it doesn't tear up, it holds up pretty well.

What were your favourites?

Toddler style

Welcome to my new "series" toddler style. Now and then I will be posting cute outfits for toddlers. I'm always inspired by how other people dress there kids so I thought this may be nice for my readers. Even if you don't have kids I'm sure you know someone that does so I think this can be helpful to everyone.

For today's toddler style I'm featuring versatile outfits.

Boys outfit

I paired some beige shorts with a simple belt (all in one) & a v-neck sea blue t- shirt. Neutral shorts are an absolute must, they look great with everything and I love v-necks because there just a little unique, a lot if brands don't make toddler v-necks and these are cut very appropriately.

Girls outfit

Dresses are cute but it can be hard to find a dress that is versatile. I say go for one colour with a fun cut. I picked up this bright coral dress for little miss. What makes this dress special is that it has a shimmery underdress.

Hope you enjoyed this post :)

What's in my makeup bag

Thought I would just share a picture of what I currently keep in my makeup bag that stays in my bag at all times unless my son steals it lol.

I like nude lip products, something for chapped lips, perfume, hair oil and bronzing lotion for touch ups and a nice hand cream. I added the l'occitane mini Shea hand cream today. I got the l'occitane sephora 500 point perk.

Maybe I'll do a review of their products. I already can tell you I like the almond oil and I think the shower oil is meh. It makes a good baby shampoo though!

Hope you all are doing well & enjoyed my double update.

More coming soon!

Go to party makeup

I would have to say my go to party makeup would be a light coverage powder that helps control shine, bronzer to contour I've been obsessed with nars Laguna. I also love to have my eyebrows plucked and lightly filled, as for my eyeshadow I tend to like a shimmery glittery eye. Recently I used my naked 2 palette with makeup geeks utopia pigment to accomplish a dazzling smokey eye however I don't recommend that pigment because it creases like no other!
Sometimes I will wear a highlight on my cheekbones, my go to highlight is MAC's soft and gentle. As for my lips I tend to like something that wears well without fading quickly of getting goopey; I love MAC lipsticks because I find they do just that. Too faced la cremes are great as well as Urban Decays Revolution lipsticks and YSL lip products wear great as well. Recently I wore MAC's creme cup. I think nudes photograph the best on me however I do love my brights but they don't look great on me in pictures.

Well that somes up my typical party makeup. Feel free to leave yours in the comments.

Shopping

I plan on buying some new things next week however I'm not sure what to buy!

I think I'm going to wait until the VIB sale to get the electric palette. I'm not sure if I want more dior fushion mono shadows. I've been thinking about heading over to Mac or the Chanel counter but I'm not sure what I REALLY want.

However I will be making a Paulas Choice order. I was going to do a bunch of small reviews however I ran into a problem so I will be writing a brand overview instead on my favourites & fails. You can expect that review in a few weeks. I have more products to test so that's why it will take awhile.

Anyways I will have up some beauty reviews soon :)

Bath & Body Works Cashmere Glow

Today I will be reviewing bath & body works cashmere glow shimmer bomb.

I thought it would be something a little different and fun to write.

The scent it's very warm. Think caramel mixed with baby powder with a little bit of a musk. To me it's potential headache causer because it is a sweet strong scent. Overall it's nice, it doesn't smell like anything fancy but it doesn't smell cheap. It's right inbetween.

Now I'm picky about body glitter/shimmer however this is defiantly a glitter. It has medium fine gold/silver glitter and it has chunky iridescent glitter. I think people get scared of a product like this because it can be difficult to pull off. My personal opinion is you can pull this off anywhere from your teens to your 40's. Hell I would rock it when I'm 70! I always suggest wearing more chunky glitter body products on legs and soft shimmers on arms and chest area.

So what will be a good place to wear this product on my legs?
I like wearing products like this at the beach & in summer in general. For me personally its not a everyday thing its more of a fun product to have :)

Anyways I hope you enjoyed this review!

What's your favourite body shimmer or glitter product?
